Mother's Day

I got the royal treatment for Mother's Day. Rico and the kids cooked a great Italian meal and everyone bought or made presents. All the gifts were great, but Bethany's was definitely the most entertaining. She bought me a red Superman cape (because I am, of course, Supermom, Ha-Ha:) She also wrote me a poem...

You can't fly and you don't have x-ray vision
But you have the power to make a good decision.
You're not invincible or even super strong
But you helped teach us right from wrong.
You can't live forever, you will eventually die
But you make a mean meal, I'm not gonna lie.
You're goofy and fun and getting pretty old
But your worth to me is much more than gold.
You embarrass me in front of all my peers
But I've gotten use to it over the years.
You listen to country music and even sing along
Which, most of the time, isn't exactly my choice of song.
You think you're too fat, that your tummy's as big as can be
But no matter what, you're still beautiful to me.
And even though sometimes you can be pretty lame
You're still my hero just the same.

Thanks for the great poem Bethany. Of course, as a parent, I still reserve the right to be lame, act goofy, and embarrass you as often as possible.
