Shreveport

We spent the weekend after Caleb's 12th birthday in Shreveport. We were able to be there for baby Ava's blessing and then Caleb was ordained to the priesthood with all our family members there for him. Two happy occasions in one day. We were also able to have some fun playing volleyball, running around in Judy's new back yard and fighting over who's turn it was to hold Layla. (Top pic is of one of the times Bethany won that fight.)

Commitment Fireside

Our stake did a commitment fireside for all the 11-year olds. The theme was King Benjamin and the 11-year old scouts actually made King Benjamin's tower. The speakers all climbed up and spoke from the top and we all brought tents to set up in the gym. It was very well done and will be something Caleb remembers forever.

Pinewood Derby

Daxon was so excited to bring home the trophy for his den at his first pinewood derby as a scout. Of course, Rico was just as excited as Dax.

Cruisin' in the New Year

We went on a cruise to Cozumel with Judy the beginning of January. We all had so much fun! We did a zip line tour, went to the beach, attended fun shows and ate lots and lots of food.

Tubing

After much frustration and many hours spent getting Rico's new-old boat running, we finally had a great day out on Lake Houston. The boys love to be on the water! We have to watch Daxon closely, though, as you can see that he is our little dare devil.

Trail to Eagle Slideshow

Winner!

Daxon won the A&M basket at the fall festival at his school. He was very excited, but the rest of us were left wondering why he put his tickets in that particular basket. We have no family that has attending that college and it has never been a topic of discussion in our house. Oh well, he was just happy to win. His favorite things out of the basket was the garden knome.

Halloween 2010

Daxon loves to "play Army" so his costume was a natural choice. Caleb is in 6th grade now and way too cool to wear a costume to school. He wore his Mardi Gras hat on crazy hat day, but his costume this year was this Tshirt that reads, "Ninjas stole my costume."

Saturday Golf

Nothin' better than a sunny Saturday and a bucket of balls.

Homecoming

Bethany gets ready for the big homecoming dance. Beautiful girl!!!

Eagle Scout

Ammon received his Eagle Scout Award on Sept 4th. We are so happy for him. He is the first Maranto in our immediate family to earn this award and we are so proud of him. We look forward to many more courts of honor for the remaining Maranto boys.

Daxon's Baptism

Daxon turned eight years old in August. Dad baptized him Sept 4th. We are so grateful that we had so many family members and friends there for his special day.

Family Visit

Grandma, Teri Jo, Debra, Max and Ashley all came for a visit in July '10. We showed them as much of Houston as we could in a short amount of time. We went to a ballgame, the beach, museum, etc. We even got Grandma in the ocean!

We went to an Astros game. We won the game, but Max and Daxon were more excited about the food.

Ammon and Grandma at the Natural History Museum.

Building a Tree House

A tree house project had been started right before Max and family came for a visit. Max, Daxon and Caleb had a great time working on the tree house and they even let Dad help them a little:)

Memorial Day at the Beach

We spent the day at the beach in Galveston. Took Rico's windsurfer and some hot dogs to grill on the Hibachi, and we had a great time.

Arrow of Light

Caleb received the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award. We are very proud of him. Next stop-Eagle!
