The Alamo

We went to San Antonio for our family vacation this year. The Alamo was our first stop. We had a great time and loved getting away from every day life.

Six Flags

We spent all day Thursday at Six Flags. Rico and I took turns staying with Daxon when there was a ride he was not tall enough for. We all had a good laugh over this sign. Daxon is too short for this ride and Ammon is almost too tall!.....The highlight of our day was when Daxon was picked out of the audience to dance onstage with some Latin dancers. We were all surprised that our shy little Daxon went up there and shook his hips with no reservations. It was such a picture perfect moment. Unfortunately, we had already taken the camera to the car so that it wouldn't get wet at the water slides so there are no pictures:(

We were very excited to finally meet Scooby Doo. He was kind enough to pose for a picture with us.

The Quiet Zone

Rico asked for an upgrade at the hotel we stayed at, but for some reason they put us on a floor that is supposed to be the 'quiet zone'. This sign states that the hotel policy is that this floor will remain free of children or groups that might make noise that would disturb other guests. Fortunately for the other guests, we were only at the hotel to sleep or we might have had some complaints. We didn't feel like moving again so we just made sure to stay very quiet.

Rainforest Cafe

The Rainforest Cafe was our last stop in San Antonio. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant but all agree the food was not worth the price. This is one of those "been there, done that" experiences that we will probably never do again.

Rico has just as much to say as President Obama. Unfortunately, he has a hard time getting people to listen.

Judy's Birthday

The week before our family vacation was sooooo busy. Elizabeth spent most of the week at Twilight Camp with Caleb and then we had part of the Maranto family over for the weekend. We had also planned a block party for that Saturday, so there was lots going on. We celebrated Judy's birthday along with Sam, Dominik, Judd and Amy and the kids. Here is Daxon with all the candles we put on Ma's cake. It was a busy week but we love every minute we can spend with our family. Happy Birthday, Judy!

Houston Zoo

Rico's company, Valero, had a family zoo day. We received tickets to the Houston Zoo and they even had a catered lunch for us. It was a hot day but we had a lot of fun.
