Bethany

Bethany is taking a photography class at school. She and her friends took a bunch of pictures of each other for a project-these are a couple of my faves of her. She does really well and usually takes better pictures with Mom's camera that Mom does:)

Wolf Badge

Here Daxon pins mom after earning his Wolf badge. He worked really hard to earn his Wolf in just 5 months. He also has more belt loops already that both his older brothers. It is not supposed to be a competition, but, being a Maranto, it is. He wants to earn the Conservation Badge that neither of his brothers earned and as many belt loops as humanly possible. Mom loves having such an excited scout, but he keeps her very busy.

Field Trip

Elizabeth went with Daxon on his field trip to an historic farm in south Texas. We saw a cow dipping demo, plowed a field, carded cotton, made cornbread and had a great time.

Orchestra

Caleb is playing the viola in the orchestra at school. He is doing very well. He is always in the fight for first chair and wins a majority of the time. More importantly, he is enjoying it!

Shreveport

We spent the weekend after Caleb's 12th birthday in Shreveport. We were able to be there for baby Ava's blessing and then Caleb was ordained to the priesthood with all our family members there for him. Two happy occasions in one day. We were also able to have some fun playing volleyball, running around in Judy's new back yard and fighting over who's turn it was to hold Layla. (Top pic is of one of the times Bethany won that fight.)

Commitment Fireside

Our stake did a commitment fireside for all the 11-year olds. The theme was King Benjamin and the 11-year old scouts actually made King Benjamin's tower. The speakers all climbed up and spoke from the top and we all brought tents to set up in the gym. It was very well done and will be something Caleb remembers forever.

Pinewood Derby

Daxon was so excited to bring home the trophy for his den at his first pinewood derby as a scout. Of course, Rico was just as excited as Dax.
